our little fish

Anna had her first swim lesson today, and she loved it! After she got over the inital shock of the water and before she started shivering at the end of the lesson, she was a little water baby! She learned how to kick, and she even put her face underwater and swam! She did great. I'm so excited to see her learn new things. My parents got to be there to watch (and take pictures), and Anna grinned at them after showing off her new skills. She was so worn out after her 30-minute lesson that she slept in the car for over 2 hours. Anna will be a mountain girl for the week while Rob and I go to California for vacation. Thank goodness for grandparents!

little laundry lady

Sicko

Anna is really a happy kid. Here she is with a temp of 103. Granted, these smiles were short lived and she has fussed the rest of the day. I called her doctor today (Saturday), and they are going to see her in clinic in the morning (on Sunday!).

sailing

Rob and I went sailing today. My goals were to not throw up or get sunburned. Unfortunately there was literally no wind. We just sat in the middle of the lake for about two hours, watched the rain roll in, then motored back to the dock. It was awesome! That's my kind of sailing. Based on my goals, today went great!

trouble

yes, she is trouble. she's got the look perfected.

new faces

Here are two expressions I see a lot of these days. The top one is usually accompanied by a squeal and laughter. The bottom one is used when she furrows her brow and thinks really hard about . . . who knows.

Happy Mother's Day!

I had so much fun on my first Mother's Day! Rob woke up with Anna at 5:00 so I could sleep. When I got out of bed at 7:00, I went for a run, and then Rob served an amazing breakfast. "Anna" bought me a beautiful silver locket with pictures of herself and Finlay inside! We went to church, hung out with friends, and started looking for a new home. It was a great day. I am so blessed every day, and I love, love, love being a mama. Happy Mother's day to all the other mamas out there!
