ready for the summer

Today was so beautiful that we couldn't resist going to the pool. Anna, the hand-me-down fashionista, got to try out one of her new swim suits. She was too cute! I have signed her up for swim lessons that will start in a couple of weeks. She has more swim suits than lessons!

still growing

Anna is getting bigger every day. She is moving, moving, moving, and I can barely keep up with her. Finlay is going crazy because she is getting in his space, so we have had to do a lot of disciplining lately (Finlay, not Anna). It is gorgeous here, so Anna is finally sporting her cute spring clothes. Her hair is getting really long, and she is getting "wispies" around her ears. Hard to believe that in less than 3 months, she will be a 1-year-old!

No we are not at the dentist. I have been trying to get a picture of Anna's two teeth, but she refuses to hold still while she is awake. We had to resort to photographing her while she was sleeping, and this is the best we could do.

Bath time

Anna still hams it up in the bath tub. We are going to start swim lessons next month, and I know she's going to love the big pool!

SHE CRAWLS!

After months of anticipation, Anna is on the move! In Pensacola last week, Mama Kae made it her mission to get Anna to crawl. All it took was the right toys and the right outfit, and off she went.

It amazes me now that just one week ago, Anna could actually hold still. Now she is EVERYWHERE! Her new favorite hangouts are around Finaly's food dish, the toilet bowl, electrical sockets, power cords, etc. SHe is crawling so much her poor little knees have rug burn! I bought a couple of pairs of Babylegs (basically light-weight leg warmers) for her to ear until her knees toughen up. She spent all day today chasing Finaly around the house. He has been so patient with her . . . I hope that lasts once she picks up speed!

Happy Easter!

We were in Pensacola for Easter weekend. The Easter Bunny came to visit Anna, and we had lots of fun catching up with our family. Anna had a fashion show with all of her new clothes (thanks, Mama Kae) and learned to crawl (thanks, Mama Kae).

Four years

Four years ago, Rob and I were married. Rob surprised me this year by sending flowers to the office, coming home early, arranging a baby sitter (thanks, Erika), and making reservations at an awesome restaurant in Atlanta. What a amazing ride these past four years have been.

8-ish months

I was a little late getting Anna's eight-month pictures made, and even later posting them. So even though Anna will be nine months old next week, here she is at eight.

She is now in her separation anxiety phase of life. I justify her behavior by trying to convince myself that she cries because she is smart . . . smart enough to tell the difference between me and strangers.

To that end, Anna cried throughout her entire photo sitting. Apprently she was not a fan of the photographer. She pretty much just wanted me to hold her the whole time while she refused to smile for the camera. This is one of the only pictures where there aren't tears streaming down her face. I tried to purchase one of the really teary pictures for posterity's sake, but the photographer somehow deleted them because she didn't think we'd want them. The whole shoot lasted about five minutes. Better luck next time.

Spring photos

Anna's school did their spring photos a couple of weeks ago (when it was warm, not snowing like it was today). I toally forgot to put Anna in something cute, so here she is. Her favorite teacher, Ms. Anntoinnette likes to style her hair with vaseline, so Anna is sporting a greasy comb-over. Awesome. These pictures are keepers for sure!

getting closer

She's getting a little closer to crawling. Rob found her on her hands and knees rocking back and forth in her crib this morning. She's got her arms under control, but her legs haven't quite gotten with the program. I give her another couple of weeks till she's really moving.
