Peanut Pepper at 13 weeks

I had my 1st trimester screening ultrasound today, and everything checked out fine. Even though I can't feel the baby moving yet, that kid was going crazy in there! We could see teh ribs and spine really well. We could see it stretching its arms and legs like a little swimmer! The ultrasound tech was trying to get a good picture for me to take home, but the baby kept hiding it's face like it was shy, so all we got are the ones shown here. The first is a picture of the bones in the head, so you can see the brain cavity, the eye sockets, and the mouth. The second is the shy picture so the head is on the right, the body is in the middle with the spine at the top, the dark spot is the stomach, and the bootie is on the left. No word on the sex yet, we'll have to wait until 20 weeks!

Hotlanta?

Well, I've taken up knitting. I started initially as a joke becuase I have no hobbies, but now I really enjoy it. Here is Rob donning my first creation. Man . . . that is one good looking scarf. I'm currently working on a baby blanket. We'll see how that turns out. It's been snowing in Atlanta, so we may actually get some use out of these things.

I think Finlay is on to something and is milking his baby status for as long as he can. This is how we found him last night. What a piece of work. I have no idea who spoiled him so much. On New Year's Eve, we celebrated his 2nd year with us.

We went in for our first doctor's visit today. I has hoping that we could hear the heart beat, but we got to see our little baby! It's really a little person! We were so excited, and wanted to share the picture with you. It's not great quality, so keep in mind the head is on the right and those little nubbins are arms and legs. So cool!

Telling the Jehles

We told my parents about the baby the week before Christmas. We originally wanted to wait intil Christmas day, but I'd already kept it secret for 2.5 weeks, and I didn't think I could make it any longer. Rob had just returned from India, so we told them that he had brought them a present. The gift was a new stocking to add to the Jehle collection (even the pets have stockings at our house!) stuffed with funny t-shirts as you can see. We did the same thing for the Peppers the following week, but they got #1 grandparent shirts which they have already worn to church. :)
