Anna's first birthday

Anna will be one year old on 7.16.09. It's so hard to believe! We are so proud of her and all her little accomplishments. She is sweet and funny and affectionate, and every day we love her more than the day before.

We went to Cashiers, NC, this weekend for a Lankford family reunion (mom's family). We celebrated the recent marriages of two of my cousins, and we celebrated Anna's first birthday. As you can see, she really loved her cake. It was special being able to celebrate with our extended family, and we look forward to seeing the Peppers in the next month.

Scarlett's birthday

Anna's friend, Scarlett, turned one this week. She is exactly 2 weeks older than Anna. We went to her party yesterday which was so much fun. The girls were so cute together, and Anna even tried to feed Scarlett blueberries (their favorite food). Anna had some birthday cake and (literally) licked her plate clean.

Anna had her first "big injury" this week. She was trying to pull up on Rob's valet in our bedroom, and pulled it on top of her instead. After a few tears, she recovered but was left with a 3 inch gash across her forehead (top picture).
