Game Day

Here's our baby gator on her first Gator game day! (She looks a little white trash running around in a tshirt and her diaper, but oh well) Anna slept through most of the game, but she did learn the gator chomp!

Cashiers

Here's some pics from our trip to Cashiers, NC, this week. It was so great to get out Atlanta for awhile. The mountains were beautiful, but because of the rain, we stayed inside quite a bit. I even had time to read a book! We all had fun playing with Anna, but I had just as much fun watching my family enjoy being with her. She is even starting to sleep for longer stretches at night, so that has been a big accomplishment. Now we're home, and this will be the first week that I will be alone since Anna was born. I have been really lucky to have so much help, but I am sad to say good bye to everyone!

hi from the mountains

After my Boards on Monday, Anna and I drove up to Cashiers, NC, with my mom to visit for the week. We were sad to sad bye to Rob this week, but we were so fortunate to have him home for 5 weeks before he went back to work. He will be travelling to Philadelphia through Christmas. We will be out of touch by blog through Friday, but I know that we will have lots of great pictures to share this weekend.

our big girl

Well Anna is getting so big! We went for our 1 month checkup today and Anna has grown; she weighs 9lb 2.5oz! She is in the 50th percentile for weight, length, and head circumference . . . way to be average. She got her second hepatitis vaccine today and turned purple screaming, but she cooled off pretty quickly and overall was pretty brave about it. The other thing to mention is that she is losing her hair. I told Papa that her hair line matches his. :) He said, "Well, at least hers will grow back."

After all the hours that Anna has been awake overnight, she made it up to us by sleeping 7 hours last night! woohoo!

Daddy Don's visit

Dad stopped through Atlanta on his way home from Cashiers today. He is so cute with his granddaughter!

big adventure

We had a big adventure with Anna today: we went to church, then our friends' house, then to the grocery store. There were no meltdowns! It was fun. Here is Anna in one of her beautiful gowns.

play time

We've finally gotten Anna's colic under enough control that she enjoys laying on a blanket on the floor to play. Our big news is that she ROLLED OVER yesterday. I always knew she would be a special child, but seriously, that is pretty impressive for a baby one day before their one month birthday!

bath time

We've started bathing Anna in a baby bathtub which she really likes, but yesterday she got in the real bathtub with Rob for a change. She LOVED it! She was so happy floating there in the water with her dad. Rob had a nice experience, too . . . particularly since Anna didn't make a mess in the water!

awake and asleep

Trying to get a colicy baby to sleep can be challenging, so it is not unusual to find Anna asleep on top of one of us in the early morning. However, she makes up for her late hours by being so cute in the morning. We've finally been able to lay her down on a blanket on the floor to play now. She and I have become big fans of Shear Genious (which is playing in the background of this clip). Finlay stays out of the way and doesn't get in her space, but he will gladly take over the blanket once we move on to other things.

The Peppers came this week to meet Anna. Anna behaved for the photo ops!

visitors

We've had lots of visitors this week. The Peppers arrived today to meet Anna and will be enjoying their stay in Atlanta until Thursday.

dresses

I decided that Anna should try to wear some of the gorgeous dresses that have been sadly hanging in her closet. I have been hesitant thus far becuase we are going through multiple outfits a day due to her, uh . . . bodily fluids. The lower picture, as expected, was taken right after she wet her dress and shortly before she puked down the front of it. Now I know why I dress her in Target closthes every day!

Mama Kae's visit

I think Mama is so cute with Anna. We were attempting to catch a smile on camera, but I think watching Mama Kae is just as entertaining.

Thanks, Ashleigh and Erica!

We're hands free! It is so liberating! Anna loves her sling and when she gets a little bigger, we will be able to use the baby bjorn.

is that a smile?

I know people say it's gas, but Anna really has been smiling lately. I think I may have caught one on video!

visitors

Anna is a pretty popular girl. We've had a bunch of people drop by and lots more planned for this upcoming week.

vacant lap

My lap was empty for about 2 seconds and Finlay gladly took over. This is very unusual for him.

our pediatrician wouldn't approve

I'll let her sleep any way I can. Don't worry, I left her unsupervised in this position for only a couple of hours.
